Dewey’s Pizza “Run to Raise Dough” 5K Succeeds Expectations
Dewey’s Pizza donates $25,000 to Cincinnati Children’s & 1N5 for Mental Health
The annual Dewey’s Pizza “Run to Raise Dough” 5K, benefiting Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and 1N5, once again welcomed a record-breaking number of runners, raising critical funding for children and members of the greater Cincinnati community in need. At this event, Dewey’s hosted more than 250 runners, as they took to the streets of Oakley and Norwood to participate in the effort. In all, more than 30 community volunteers and 60 local sponsors supported the runners this year. The 2023 “Run to Raise Dough” 5K raised a total of $25,000, with funds allocated specifically to focus on suicide prevention. To date, Dewey’s has raised a total of $162,000 for the community with its “Run to Raise Dough” 5K.
Open to the public, the Dewey’s team also hosted a coveted after-party, featuring more than 15 local vendors including tunes from DJ Kay at Q102, beers from Braxton Brewing Company, treats from Aglamesis Bro’s, and more. All proceeds benefited mental health.
“We are celebrating our 25th anniversary this year, and we are so proud to have the privilege of hosting our fourth Run to Raise Dough. This year we focused on mental health by adding 1N5, alongside Cincinnati Children’s as our benefactor,” said Chuck Lipp, President of Dewey’s Pizza. Dewey’s has previously supported Cincinnati Children’s Center for Autoimmune Liver Disease since the inception of the “Run to Raise Dough” 5K in 2018. The shift to mental health in 2023 was a direct request from Dewey’s team members, who feel passionately about promoting mental health and wellness in the hospitality community.
Key sponsors in this event included Anna & Lair Kennedy, Browner Family, CAI Insurance Agency, Inc., Chefs’ Warehouse Inc., Gallagher Insurance, Holly’s Custom Print Inc, Kohnen & Patton LLP, Kuna Foodservice, Restaurant365, and In Memory of Michael Albert Lawless.
